A Tribute to the Iconic Style of the King of Pop: Michael Jackson

June 27, 2009 · 2 Comments

Not only did he produce hits that were larger than life, but also influenced millions of young children and adults with his unique sense of style that truly made him an icon.

He in fact was the “Man in the Mirror”, because every child, woman and man saw or wanted to see Michael in them, when they looked in the mirror.

For me his style choices always communicated a sense of child-like courage, regalness, rebeliousness, responsibility and in some ways almost a bitter sense of being a show man to the world and suppressing his own desires.

Everything he did became a movement in itself. Below are some of his iconic looks that really made Michael Jackson a style icon and drove the masses crazy.

    FROM FACEBOOK:
We are all going to be deprived of the next great thing he would’ve done. No matter how cool it was to make fun of him, we all, at some point in our lives, have attempted the moonwalk at least once, ALL OF US. No one on earth has influenced and inspired people as he did; across the tiniest village to the biggest countries, across all language barriers and across all boundaries. He is being mourned across the world.

Love it- he is the definition of ‘legend’. His style is my absolute favourite… pure suave, edgy, original and amazing fashion. I think ‘Thriller’ set the fashion bar for the 80s altogether.
He inspired me to buy my first military jacket.
